POSITION SUMMARY

The CVS Digital - Developer Experience team is on a mission to build an enterprise software deployment platform, CVS Application Platform (CAP), that will transform how developers deploy applications at scale for CVS Digital application teams. We are a team of engineers and engineering leader's laser-focused on delivering exceptional self-service experiences to our developers who are writing critical guest-facing digital applications to help people on their path to better health. We are looking for engineers and engineering leaders across all levels and skillsets that are passionate about delivering highly scalable, reliable and secure platforms that make deploying software incredibly easy.

About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer - CAP UI role is a hands-on software engineering role focusing on building the frontend UI for our next-generation Software Deployment platform at CVS. This is a new team at CVS and we need a strong front end engineer who can work with a high level of freedom and autonomy, advocate for best practices, and can collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, architects and leadership to build UI that engineers want to use. This is a unique opportunity to help build an incredible UI experience and team from the ground up.

  • Self-starter who can see the big picture and prioritize their work to make the largest impact on the business and customers vision and requirements

  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to define, design, and implement software features and functionality

  • A commitment and drive for quality, technical excellence, and results. We like pushing code to production!

  • Perform unit testing and integration testing to ensure code quality and reliability

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as necessary to deliver high value work for the organization

  • Be a daily advocate for and implement security best practices

  • Participate in on-call rotations providing exceptional service to our customers

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience building large scale frontend apps in TypeScript / JavaScript using frameworks like React and Vue

  • Strong familiarity with web protocols and standards like REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, OAuth, CSS, HTML, WCAG, and so on

  • 3+ years of experience with modern software development practices like CI/CD and collaborative coding tools like GitHub, GitLab, etc

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Track record of mentorship and coaching, and a desire to encourage a culture of collaboration both on the team and across teams

  • Extensive knowledge of modern frontend testing methods and tools like Testing Library, Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Puppeteer, etc

  • Ability to collaborate closely with backend engineers to define APIs and schemas

  • Experience working on agile teams with a focus on iterating quickly and shipping code frequently

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
