New York State Senate Deputy Accounts Payable Manager in ALBANY, New York

The New York State Senate seeks an experienced individual to join their Accounts Payable Department as the Deputy Accounts Payable Manager.Minimum requirements for an Accounts Payable Deputy Manager typically include an associate or bachelors degree in accounting or a related field. Other qualifications may include:Experience: 510 years of experience in accounts payable or general accountingSkills: Strong organizational and time management skills, business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasksSoftware proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounts payable softwareCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilitiesAccounting knowledge: Basic accounting principles, knowledge of payables, budgeting, and accounting best practicesThe Deputy Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for the following:Responsible for reviewing all travel and employee expense reimbursement transactions before submitting these documents to the Secretary of the Senates approvalResponsible for the review of all voucher documents before the submission of these documents to the Secretary of the Senates approvalAssists Accounts Payable Manager in the review and analysis of State contracts submitted for Office of State Comptroller approvalAssists the Accounts Payable Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable Office, including communicating with vendors in the solution of outstanding bill claims and the clarification of billing disputesReview all pertinent payment data for accuracyHandles day-to-day operations, including SFS roles, when the AP Manager is unavailable.Bonded authorization to receive up checks from the New York State Division of the TreasurySupports the Chief Fiscal Officer in retrieving data and producing reports associated with requests for informationAny other requests from the CFO of the SenateSalary range is between $80,000 to $95,000, commensurate with education and experience.Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to jobs@nysenate.gov.
