Google Network Implementation Engineer, Productivity Capacity in Addison, Texas

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with field-based work in data centers, huts, and colocation facilities managed by third-party vendors.

  • Experience working with optical networking technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with troubleshooting of DWDM systems, and skilled in DWDM topology and architecture.

  • Knowledge of fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (OSA, BERT, OTDR).

  • Understanding of networking and fundamentals of network troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of network transport design, equipment, and infrastructure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $111,000-$163,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Be responsible for building and operating Google's network reliably and at scale.

  • Work with engineers to develop creative approaches for keeping operational costs low through tooling and process improvements.

  • Design, plan, and install support for optical transport.

  • Deliver capacity for the North America region.
