Purpose of Role:
To provide strategic leadership to the commercial agenda by developing focus, consistency and capabilities across the division and distributor network on our Execution agenda. This is a key role that will be part of DBC Commercial leadership and be the key link between our central teams, Performance management and Regional distributor management teams. This role will require the management of multiple stakeholders and be able to move seamlessly between strategy, detail and tactics.
Accountabilities :
Deliver Company’s Revenue Management Agenda
Deliver & Support the development and execution of DBC’s consumer and trade pricing suggested strategies, via the AOP price planning process and routine performance management
Accountable for price/mix/margin delivery alongside Field Sales Teams
Enabler for facilitating and delivery the business units revenue management agenda at the local distributor market level
Drive insights that will translate into actions that help deliver our executional goals
Complete analyses that will uncover opportunities to improve execution and help to deliver commercial targets
Ensure that market, outlet and brand level insights are simplified and easily communicated to performance management teams and distributor partners
Full understanding and ability to translate analytics and outlet level standards to commercial teams
Work collaboratively with distributor management teams to deliver Execution performance goals
Embed strategic imperatives’ by driving consistency on expectations and deliverables, goals and objectives.
Works closely with Advanced Analytics team to ensures all tools are in place to support attainment of goals.
Have constructive conversations with performance management team and distributor executive teams when performance is off track to ensure that we have plans in place to improve
Work alongside, D&T, Advanced Analytics and NAM Commercial Analytics teams to drive insights that will identify opportunities for future growth
Provide feedback for Advanced Analytics and DBS teams on tool modifications that will enhance the end user experience (PowerBI/Anaplan/VIP)
Act as liaison between distributor management teams and internal central teams on all technology and process related queries
Lead the pursuit on automating all reporting and champion to removal on off line tracking and reporting
Work with distributor management teams and distributors on how we drive a step change in capabilities and embedding EDGE
Lead training and capability agenda with users on EDGE & PowerBI
Work with markets to identify low level performers and build a robust capability plan to get them on track
Works with VP Growth & Activation and extended Diageo leadership Team to deliver a sustainable RTM and business planning cycle thru ad hoc projects
Takes leadership role on strategy evaluation and analysis behind RTM projects in conjunction with cross-functional teams
Supports division teams to ensure innovation readiness for flawless launches
Supports division teams to deliver market share winning strategies with insight and analysis
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Undergraduate degree. MBA preferred
Must have 5+ years of cross functional commercial experience, with strong analytical and technical skills
Proven track record of being able to manage a wide array of stakeholders
Must be performance and process oriented and understand and apply interdependencies with other functions. Must know how to use and execute metrics to measure performance
Have advanced skills in analytics and data insights. Must understand and apply data analysis to drive effective portfolio strategies and business performance
Must have thorough knowledge of financial management, including working applications of financial planning, analysis, and strategy
Superior platform skills in oral, written, and electronic communication, and ability to easily and effectively flex styles to manage results thru diverse group of stakeholders (internal, distributor, etc.)
Moves with considerable pace, inspired to take action and possesses an insatiable appetite for continuous improvement
Barriers to success in role:
Lack of subject matter expertise or ability to engage and influence key internal and external stakeholders
Inability to see a clear view of the future end state which will enable us to be benchmarked externally as leading capability
