What’s the Job?

Our client, a full-service payments, lending and banking provider that delivers global financial services is seeking an experienced Director of Compliance Data Governance and Reporting. The individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework and ensuring accurate and timely compliance reporting, with a specific focus on managing compliance data from third parties. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the organization's third-party data management practices, improving data quality, and providing insightful reports to support compliance decision-making and board of director reporting requirements.

What’s Needed?

• Develop and execute data governance and reporting strategy that aligns with business goals and growth plans.

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement efforts to meet evolving demands.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive third-party data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards for compliance data management, quality, and security.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, and Risk Management, to ensure the effective implementation and ongoing maintenance of the third-party data governance framework.

• Establish and maintain a third-party data inventory and data lineage documentation to ensure a clear understanding of data sources, flows, and dependencies.

• Develop and implement data quality management processes for third-party data required for compliance, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation.

• Monitor and assess the ongoing quality and reliability of third-party data required for compliance, conducting regular testing and assessments to identify potential issues or risks.

• Identify and prioritize third-party data requirements for regulatory reporting and internal compliance monitoring.

• Monitor and analyze compliance reporting metrics related to third-party data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas of concern, and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Design and implement automated compliance reporting processes, leveraging data visualization and business intelligence tools to provide accurate and timely insights.

• Collaborate with the compliance team to identify and prioritize data requirements for internal compliance monitoring, and the development of KRIs and KPIs.

• Maintain a comprehensive set of KRIs and KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of compliance programs, identify potential risks, and measure performance against established goals.

• Provide training and guidance to relevant stakeholders on third-party data governance policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends related to third-party data management and reporting and adapt the data governance framework accordingly.

• Lead and mentor a team of data governance and reporting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making, leading to a high performing and effective team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management practices, and data security principles.

• Strong understanding of compliance regulations, reporting requirements, and performance monitoring practices, particularly in the financial services industry.

• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive data governance initiatives.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data requirements into actionable insights.

• Proficiency in data analysis, data visualization, and business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake or QlikView.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with senior management, regulators, and cross-functional teams.

• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop and inspire a high-performing data governance and reporting team.

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, with at least 5 years in a management role.

• Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and standards.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and monitoring KRIs and KPIs for compliance programs.
