As a SHO Officer, you will join our collaborative team working on assignments within our client’s organization. You will serve as Safety & Health Officer for a large infrastructure project in Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish working relationships and provide visible HSE technical support and leadership to the project team.

  • Provide governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the project HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements.

  • Assist the Project Management team to review and provide comments on project Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) plans and hazard assessments.

  • Review contractors’ site-specific safety plans for compliance with the client’s standards and local regulations.

  • Verify that contractors are monitoring safety compliance with their site-specific safety plans and local regulations.

  • Participate in pre-construction and major component pre-mobilization meetings.

  • Coordinate and manage periodic safety walks with Project Managers and contractor safety personnel.

  • Raise safety observations and encourage the project team to engage in the observation reporting process.

  • Provide periodic reports to the project team documenting compliance issues, safety related challenges, incidents, and observations.

  • Review contractor incident investigations and provide comments on investigations and related trends.

  • Track and analyze safety performance and trends and provide recommendations for program improvement.

  • Support Health & Safety initiatives

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Competent and registered with DOSH (Department of Occupational, Safety and Health)or NEBOSH - Green Book Holder

  • A related Degree/Diploma holder, undergraduate, or post-graduate qualification

  • Minimum Five relevant (5) years of experience in a similar position

  • Previous experience is essential in infrastructure/heavy civil construction environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Able to assist S.O/S.O representative to handle any DOSH issues at site

  • Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills

  • Must be familiar with local legislations -Occupational Safety Health Administration, regulations, and standards.
